menard pressuremeter testing

Project description

Geotechnical site investigations were planned for a tunnel project in Romania. Geotechnical works included drilling and sampling, Menard pressuremeter testing, standpipe piezometer and inclinometer installation, and surface and borehole seismic surveys.

Our assignment

Interra Applications was requested to perform in-situ Menard pressuremeter testing.

Our job was to perform pressuremeter testing from shallow depths to more than 70 meters deep boreholes on a very tight schedule in order to meet the project requirements. Since more drilling rigs were involved, project management skills were as asset in order to synchronize testing with drilling and minimizing standby times.

We managed to finish the project on time, and delivered high quality data for tunnel design.
