cptu & dpsh testing
Project description
The project was part of the design phase of new subway system in Bucharest, Romania. Client did soil improvement using underground grout injection for stability purposes.
Our assignment
Interra Applications was requested to undertake geotechnical site investigations in order to assess ground conditions using in-situ testing. The aim of this survey was to collect in situ cone penetration data in order to provide support information for future design.
The purpose of this project was to determine the difference between soil parameters in natural vs grout injected areas. Interra Applications used a small sized, track mounted, static/dynamic penetrometer along with custom made system for anchoring and rod pushing. Point locations were placed over the actual road system, therefore we needed to dig shafts for reaching natural ground.
Valuable data was collected using this fast and reliable method.
