Project description

Planned geotechnical site investigations required an increase in penetration rates and retrieved core quality. The works included drilling and sampling, in-situ testing, standpipe and vibrating wire piezometer installation along with pumping testing.

Our assignment

Interra Applications was requested to provide technical advice and project management for wireline drilling and sampling, and borehole installation.

Our job was to provide technical solutions for deep geotechnical wireline drilling in order to increase the penetration rates and expand bit life, increase core recovery and obtain high quality samples. Standpipe and vibrating wire piezometers were installed in the boreholes and pumping tests were carried out.

The projects had tight schedules therefore project management skills were an asset for carrying out all the operations in the designated time and costs.
